Who knew?

  • Females are larger than males.
  • The bald eagle is actually a sea eagle (Haliaeetus species).
  • Eagles can live up to 30 years in the wild.
  • A pair of eagles typically mates for life.

I recently photographed a pair that lives on one of the 93 lakes located in Kennebec County, Maine.
